Heritage Lottery Fund

(November 15, 2010)

On Friday 12 November Steve met with Sara Hilton, Head of the Heritage Lottery Fund in the North West, to discuss the current grant schemes available and the possiblility of funding for Walton.

The Heritage Lotterly Fund (HLF) is the body responsible for distributing National Lottery monies to good heritage causes.  A recent local beneficiary was the Sefton Park Restoration Project, a two-year scheme which received £4.7 million from the HLF, topped up by £2.3 million from Liverpool City Council, to restore the park to its former glory.

“It was good to meet with Sara,” said Steve.  “North Liverpool has a fascinating heritage which ought to be cherished and preserved.  We must look ahead and think strategically, so as to maximise the potential of funding opportunities from bodies such as the HLF.  I’ll do all within my power to actively support and advise on this.”
