School Sports and the 2012 Legacy

(November 17, 2010)

Sport will be on the agenda today, when Steve attends a meeting on the future of School Sports and the 2012 Legacy.

The 2012 Legacy is intended to ensure local communities nationwide benefit long-term from the impact of the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Steve is keen to explore the possibilities for Liverpool Walton.  “The Olympics is the world’s biggest sporting event,” he said “and – whilst it may be taking place in the capital - it’s only right that the entire country should have a stake in it.  I look forward to hearing how the Legacy Trust is harnessing mounting awareness and enthusiasm to encourage greater community involvement in the Games themselves and wider participation in sport generally.”
