Liverpool Santa Dash 2010

(December 06, 2010)

Yesterday saw Steve donning his Christmas gear to take part in Liverpool’s Santa Dash.

The 5km sponsored fun run involved almost 8,000 red-besuited runners, with the proceeds going to a range of good causes including the Liverpool Unite campaign (which helps Merseyside communities improve the lives of underprivileged children and young people).

Steve’s chosen charity for the event was the Rhys Jones Memorial Fund, which is working hard to raise the cash to build a sports facility in memory of the murdered 11-year-old.  “The memory of Rhys will resonate for a very long time and this sports facility will give kids the opportunity to do something positive,” he explained.

The mass dash was hailed a huge success by organisers and participants alike.
