Steve Congratulates Walton's Award Winning Business(April 16, 2013)
Labour MP, Steve Rotheram has congratulated a Walton business that has been recognised for its outstanding work in Liverpool.
Stairlift Specialists based in the Nelson Business Park in Walton has been recognised as a leading local business by being shortlisted in a Newspaper Society competition. The Local Business Accelerators competition is looking for the most promising small businesses in the country, with a national winner being announced in October.
Steve said, “I am delighted to see the success of Stairlift Specialists. Small businesses play a vital role in our economy and in local communities. I very much hope that the Local Business Accelerators competition and the accomplishments of Stairlift Specialists will help to inspire other people to start their own business in Liverpool or to grow one they are running already.
“I also wanted to remind other local businesses of the importance of seeking out and acting on advice, particularly when first starting out. For example, the Business in You website (www.businessinyou.bis.gov.uk) contains a wealth of information and directions to other sources of help.”
The competition’s national winner will receive a year's mentoring from Dragon’s Den star Deborah Meaden, who said, “We’re setting out to find the best local businesses that Britain has to offer; the kind of businesses that can create jobs, invigorate local communities and put the economy on the right track.”
The winner will also receive other prizes including free advertising in their local newspaper, £10,000 from the Business Growth Fund, a year's membership of the CBI, business advice from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales, broadband and a website from BT, and an iPad and a year’s access to software from Freeagent.
