Steve Salutes Blessed Sacrament Infants

(July 17, 2012)

Send MY Friend to School

Walton MP, Steve Rotheram has congratulated children from the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Infant School in Fazakerley, for the part that they played in the 'Send My Friend to School' campaign.

Steve said, "The school has done Liverpool proud. 391 children have produced their 'Go for Gold' medals which have now been sent to the Prime Minister at 10 Downing Street. The medals signify the children putting pressure on the Government to keep their promise to do all they can to ensure that the 67 million kids around the world, still not in school get to school by 2015.

"It is sometimes easy in Walton to forget how lucky we are, despite the current economic backdrop that has engulfed our country. Our children have a chance. That chance is more than some have and all that those same children would ever want. I passionately believe in our young people because I know that for Liverpool to come out the other side of this recession as a stronger city, then we need our young people to be the drive of ideas and inspiration.

"There is no doubt, that through the Send My Friend to School campaign, the children of the Blessed Sacrament Infant school have been truly inspiring and I am proud of them all."
